If your planning a winter trip to Purgatory, you may need snow chains to get to your rental.

When would I need chains?

From November through April, snow packed roads are likely. If your car is equipped with summer or even all-season tires, it may not be up for the task.

What can I expect the roads to be like?

Many of the neighborhood roads around Purgatory will be snow packed all winter. Some roads don’t get plowed unless the storm produces 6″ or more. They also feature steep inclines and declines with extremely steep drop-offs at times.

What do I need to navigate the snow packed roads?

We recommend that your car be either 4WD or AWD and equipped with snow tires or snow chains.

What kind of chains do you offer?

We exclusively stock Security Chain Companies Super-Z line of chains. They provide extra traction with a low profile which meets industry standards for tire clearance. Keep in mind, there can be exceptions depending on the type of vehicle.

Where do we pick up and drop off?

We will meet you at your turnoff from hwy 550 as you head to your cabin. There we will demonstrate how to properly apply the chains to your wheels.

Can I cancel the rental if chains aren’t needed?

A refund will be provided for any days that there isn’t snow on the neighborhood roads.
